Why you need attention-grabbing graphics [Prep for More Sales Series — BONUS Tip]
In this ‘Prep for More Sales’ blog series, I’m sharing five days' worth of easy tweaks you can make to optimize your sales page and get yourself ready for your most profitable sale ever! Each of these super actionable quick wins can be implemented in 20 minutes or less and will have a HUGE impact on the conversions + clarity of your page. Let’s get that money, honey!
I’m all about saving the best for last, babe, which is why I’m coming at you today with my very best tip for getting your offer in front of your dream buyers: attention-grabbing graphics.
I’ve heard every excuse in the book from online biz owners who think they don’t need visuals to promote their offer.
“I sell physical products, can’t I just use my product images?”
“My sales copy is the bomb.com — I don’t need visuals to sell.”
“I’m not a designer, so I don’t think my buyers expect me to have beautiful visuals.”
Here’s the deal, babe. Every online business needs amazing promo visuals, including YOU (yes, you).
It doesn’t matter what you sell, where you sell it, or who your buyers are — we’re all visual creatures, so you need to make sure you’re using gorgeous graphics to get your message in front of your tribe.
Here are just some of the many, many reasons why you need scroll-stopping graphics for your offer:
✔ They make you look profesh + pulled together
✔ They increase the perceived value of your products
✔ They can make (physical + digital) product listings look 10x more appealing
✔ They show buyers exactly what they’re getting + give them an idea of how they will actually use your product
✔ They’re great for showing social proof
✔ They allow you to send more effective sales emails with less copy
How to make it happen
You’re probably like “Okay, Nicholette, that’s great! But I’m no designer. How the heck do I pull this off?!”
Don’t worry babe, I gotchu. Here are my top tips for creating attention-grabbing visuals for your offer — and your business in general!
Keep it consistent.
Do yourself a favor and don’t try to revamp your graphics every single time you run a sale! Keeping your visuals consistent creates memorability + brand recognition. Use the same brand colors, fonts and elements (patterns, icons + borders) over and over, including in product mock-ups and landing page visuals!
Keep it simple.
How many times have you heard me say this one?! Great design is minimal design. Extra white space gives your graphic the feeling of breathing room and clarity, so embrace it, babe! Always look at your final design and see if there’s anything you can take away.
Think about your CTA.
When creating any graphic for your biz, think about the #1 action you want your peeps to take when they see your graphic. Then, design from that point! Your CTA is the most important part of your design — whether it’s a “Buy Now” button or something that highlights an important product feature — and you want to direct your viewer’s eyes there ASAP.
Use bright colors.
Our eyes are naturally drawn to bold pops of color, and they’re always better than neutrals for grabbing attention. That’s why I always recommend including a mix of brights + neutrals in your brand colors! Don’t be afraid to play with simple pops of color and even a little animation in your sales graphics.
Stay organized.
There is literally nothing worse than starting from scratch because you can’t find that killer graphic you created last time. Using folders (especially in Canva) will make your life so much easier. And be sure to plan out your promo emails and social schedule as early as possible, so you get a better sense of what graphics are missing.
